Job Opening Title: Executive Director

Job Opening Description:

. Research and prepare, or oversee research and preparation of grant proposals and other funding applications.
. Develop and maintain a donor base for both monetary and non-monetary resources.
. Develop and maintain a donor tracking system.
. Work with Board in any fund-raising events or activities.

. Meet with program staff: a) to determine and discuss any problems or plans involving volunteers, (recruitment, training, screening and supervision); b) keep court staff, agency personnel, agency operations informed of all relevant agency activities.
. Ensure all necessary forms are filed with the appropriate agencies for all necessary permits, memberships, licenses, etc.
. Prepare monthly program reports.
. Keep Juvenile Court administration and other Child Welfare agencies apprised of agency directives and activities.
. Oversee agency and program compliance with established policies and procedures.

. Develop, implement and maintain tracking systems for both volunteer and caseload files.
. Develop and initiate time-oriented strategic plans to establish agency goals (e.g., 1-year, 5-year, 10-year plans).
. Review program/agency progress and compare to goals and objectives.
. Develop and update monthly status of progress compared to goals and objectives.
. Ensure agency compliance with National and State CASA standards.
. Attend and work with National and State CASA programs through conferences and meetings.

. Coordinate public relations with the purpose of recruiting volunteers and increasing public awareness of the CASA program and its goals and activities.
. Develop and maintain relationships with all appropriate groups, agencies and organizations, and any and all other child advocacy agencies and community service organizations.
. Oversee release of press packets and news releases and follow-up of any media coverage.
. Approve all written public relations material printed by the agency.
. Be available for public speaking engagements.

. Hire, supervise and fire, when necessary, administrative, management and program staff.
. Write and revise, as necessary, the job descriptions for all staff and executive director (subject to Board approval) within the agency.
. Prepare yearly performance evaluations (oral and written) for all administrative and management staff.

. Develop appropriate training for each staff position.
. Implement initial and ongoing staff training as necessary.
. Participate in developing and implementing CASA and other volunteer training.

. Attend all Board meetings.
. Oversee implementation of all Board directives, policies and procedures.
. Serve as liaison between Board and agency staff.
. Keep Board apprised of agency operations, changes and problems.
. Monitor Board/Committee activities and attend Committee meetings.
. Provide status of progress compared to goals and objectives to review with the Board.

. Manage day-to-day fiscal operations.
. Submit monthly and quarterly financial reports to grantors (as required).
. Review and approve all monthly and quarterly reports and documentation to substantiate those reports.
. Approve bills and expenditures for reimbursement and payment.
. Assist in developing agency annual budget.

. Advocate for the organization in the court and child welfare systems and in the community. 
. Serve as liaison to the Courts, Dept. of Human Services, related community services agencies and attorneys to promote understanding and acceptance of the advocacy role of Tulsa CASA and individual CASAs.

In accordance with a CASA team philosophy, the person filling this position may be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the specified duties in this job description. These duties may include assisting with:
. Initial and in-service training. 
. Recruitment and screening of volunteers.
. Public relations/awareness and fundraising. 
. Volunteer recognition and retention events. 
. Planning and implementing the Annual CASA Children's Christmas Party. 
. Providing office coverage.

Job Opening Basic Qualifications:

. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Law, Social Work, Child Welfare, Psychology, Sociology or related field.
. 5+ years related experience in administration of volunteer, non-profit or public service or court-related service agency.
. Previous experience working with volunteers and knowledge and understanding of child abuse and neglect, families in crisis, the juvenile court system and other social services and court-related services skills, fund-raising, grant writing, public speaking, and writing skills are given priority.
. Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills. 
. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
. Competency with personal computers and Windows products. 
. Ability to work cooperatively with a wide array of personalities.
. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. 
. Commitment to CASA goals and mission.

Job Description Summary:

The Executive Director is ultimately responsible for the overall management of the agency and all aspects of the agency's operations. This primarily involves the supervision and coordination of a volunteer service program, which provides CASA services to abused and neglected children. Key responsibilities include, but are not restricted to Resource development and maintenance, Agency and program planning, Community and public relations, Personnel management, Agency liaison to the Board of Directors, Fiscal management, and Child advocacy.
