Sam Dagnall joined the United Way in 2017 after serving as a Loaned Executive in the 2015 campaign. During his time as an LE, he found a passion for non-profits and desire to serve his community.

Before the United Way, Sam began his career at QuikTrip, starting as a part time clerk in 2009, and working his way through the ranks to store manager. At QuikTrip, Sam served on a contribution committee, which helped decide where to allocate donated funds throughout the community.

Sam enjoys being part of a team and brings his passion for philanthropy to his role at the United Way.

Haley M. Buzzard Hamilton has more than 10 strong years of experience in community development.

She recently earned a masters degree in Public Service Management from DePaul University in Chicago, IL.

Prior to focusing full time on graduate school she worked for Cherokee Nation Businesses. Her area of expertise includes research, media relations, community and government relations and event planning. She worked to develop and deliver key messages for tailored audiences.

Before leaving for Chicago, Buzzard was active in the community and has extensive public engagement and participation with the Tulsa Indian Affairs Commission, Leadership Tulsa 39, Tulsa Metro Chamber Mosaic Board, Catoosa City Parks Board, Catoosa Chamber of Commerce, Cherokee Nation Healing to Wellness Court and Cherokee Nation community organizations.

Buzzard earned a B.A. of mass communications and public relations from Northeastern State University, and an associate’s degree from Haskell Indian Nations University.

Buzzard currently lives in Catoosa, OK. She is a dual citizen of the Cherokee Nation and the Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas.

Amelia joined the Tulsa Area United Way team in August 2019. She is originally from upstate New York, where she attended SUNY Geneseo and studied Sociology.

Arriving in Tulsa in 2017, Amelia served two years as an AmeriCorps Volunteer with City Year Tulsa at McLain Jr./Sr. High School. With City Year, Amelia mentored and tutored students in North Tulsa at risk of dropping out of high-school. This volunteer experience, with a TAUW Community Collaboration Organization, instilled her passion for service and invested interest in serving Tulsa in a new capacity on our United Way team. She looks forward to serving our Greater Tulsa area as we strive to unite people and resources to build a stronger community.

Chase Mowery joined the United Way in the spring of 2018 after working as the Community Engagement Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma, a United Way partner agency.

Originally from Illinois, Chase came to Tulsa to serve as an AmeriCorps Member with City Year, a national nonprofit that serves at-risk youth. While in City Year, Chase was the Positive School Climate Coordinator at Daniel Webster High School. Prior to City Year, Chase earned his B.A. in English at Monmouth College, graduating with honors in 2014.

Chase currently serves as a Big Brother to his Little, Logan. He is excited to join the Campaign Team to help make the Tulsa community a better place to live, work and raise a family.

Mayor Bynum Issues Safer at Home Order for All Tulsans

Mayor G.T Bynum issued a Safer at Home Order for all Tulsans beginning Sat., March 28 at 11:59 p.m. through April 16 to slow the spread of COVID-19. Earlier this week, the State of Oklahoma issued a Safer at Home Order statewide for those 65 years or older and individuals with underlying medical conditions. Mayor Bynum’s order includes all Tulsans regardless of age.

Tulsa Area COVID-19 Response Fund Now Accepting Donations

This executive order specifically limits restaurants to curbside, drive-thru, takeout and delivery services. It is up to the restaurant or business owner’s discretion on how they operate those services, but they should follow CDC guidelines for best practices
First COVID-19 Death Confirmed in Oklahoma

Tulsa Health Department officials confirm a Tulsa County resident has died due to COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. A man in his 50s who tested positive for COVID-19 on March 17 passed away due to complications on March 18. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

Tulsa Health Department Public Health Preparedness Update
3/14/2020
Following consultation with the Director of the Tulsa Health Department, the City of Tulsa issued a directive prohibiting events of 250 or more in city facilities and revoking special event permits issued for events of 250 or more. This ban goes into effect today, March 14 at 5 p.m., until April 15, when it will be re-evaluated.
