Spanish Bilingual Tax Site Coordinator

STATUS: Part-time, Seasonal (February 2019 – April 2019)


Under the direct supervision of the VITA Program Coordinator, the Spanish Bilingual Tax Site Coordinator oversees tax preparation at one or more of the Tulsa Area United Way's VITA sites during tax season. The Tax Site Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all activities at the tax site, making sure that the site runs smoothly. This person is able to make decisions and give directions to everyone at the site to ensure clients' and volunteer tax preparers' needs are met. The Tax Site Coordinator solves problems as professionally as possible, keeping in mind that the clients are the top priority. Site Coordinator is responsible for reviewing and providing quality control for all tax returns prepared at the site, as well as answering tax related questions from clients and volunteers.


  • Handling electronic filing of all returns
  • Ensuring that tax site meets IRS guidelines
  • Supervising opening and closing of tax site
  • Available to answer and respond to any questions from clients or tax preparers, including tax law questions
  • Supervising and coordinating work of volunteer preparers, making sure each tax return is completed accurately and efficiently
  • Performing Quality Reviews on all tax returns prepared at the tax site
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all records at tax site
  • Providing quality control for all aspects of tax site operation, including effective volunteer management and customer service
  • Performing any job function that is necessary to maintain a safe working environment for volunteers and clients
  • Contacting technical support in the event that any equipment fails or there are issues or questions associated with the tax preparation software.

Performing other duties as assigned, including asking client to leave tax site if fraud is suspected.


Prior knowledge of preparing taxes required and experience in managing other employees preferred. High School Diploma or completion of G.E.D required. Post-Secondary College prep and college degree preferred. Prefer at least one-year experience with tax preparation or accounting. Candidate must be English/Spanish Bilingual.

Site coordinators must become certified on tax law utilizing IRS certification materials. Training is provided.


Must have proven successful interpersonal relationship skills to maintain effective and satisfactory working relationships with supervisor, volunteers and clients. Ability to follow oral and written instructions with ability to read, interpret, and present information efficiently and effectively. Must maintain confidentiality of clients with tact and discretion. Must be flexible to meet high demands of seasonal program. Must be highly organized and willing to work extended hours during the peak program season.

Disaster Relief Fund for Eastern Oklahoma Established to Assist with Recovery
