Leadership Giving Fact Sheet

1.    What are "Key Club" and "Leadership Giving"?

a.    Leadership Giving is a broad term used to describe all levels of giving that fall under the "Leadership Giving" Umbrella.  The levels are Key Club members; Bronze ($500-$749), Bronze Plus ($750-$999), Silver ($1,000-$1,499), Silver Plus ($1,500-$2,499), Gold ($2,500-$4,999) and Platinum ($5,000- $9,999).  The Alexis de Tocqueville Society consists of members who invest in the future of the Tulsa area with annual individual contributions of $10,000 or more.

b.    Key Club Membership is awarded to anyone who gives $500 - $9,999 per year to the Tulsa Area United Way.  This can be given in a one time gift or through payroll deduction (i.e. $20.84 twice a month).

2.     Leadership starts at $1.37 a day.  What a gift of $42 per month can provide:

a.    A monthly grocery sack for two disabled or elderly people who otherwise would not be able to afford them,

b.    "World of work" teaching materials for 17 transitional work adjustment high school students with disabilities,

c.    One patient with about 32 hours of caregiver services and companionship to a dying patient who either lives alone or has limited access to a caregiver,

d.    Eight counseling sessions to help youth and families resolve issues.

e.    Hygiene and food packets to 150 homeless youth,

f.     30 hours of individual therapy for an abused child.

3.    For a Leadership Gift (minimum of $500 a year), TAUW wants to recognize and say "thank you" to those that help touch so many lives.  Donors receive:

a.    Their choice of one Key Club recognition item: Lapel pin, sticky pin, car window decal or bracelet

b.    Their names are published in Leaders in Giving Registry (if desired)

4.     Greater Community Impact:

a.    A Leadership Gift can be magnified if it matched at a company.  Be sure to check and see if the company matches the employee's donation.

5.    Be a part of the Community Wide Goal to reach 10,000 Leadership Gifts by the year 2010.

a.    Join the 6,500 current members and become a part of reaching this important community milestone.
