Executive Staff

Tom Albaugh Jr.
Vice President of Labor Relations

918-295-6668

Tom Albaugh recently finished his 19th campaign with the Tulsa Area United Way. The vice president of labor relations, Tom is a liaison between the Tulsa Area United Way and the Northeastern Oklahoma Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.  He provides assistance to workers and their families and support for the annual United Way campaign. Another part of Tom’s job is to recruit volunteers for United Way and its partner agencies, as well as to conduct information and referral training classes annually.

Tom saw United Way as the organization where he felt he could make a direct impact with helping people in need. He enjoys his job because he gets to see, first hand, the lives United Way changes and the positive impact the nonprofit has on the community.

Sharon Gallagher joined the United Way staff on Jan. 29, 2008 as the vice president of community investments. She directs the operation of the community investments and agency relations functions of the organization, staffs the Community Investments Committee and supervises professional staff assigned to community investments panels and committees. Sharon also maintains working relationships with funded agencies. She organizes and is responsible for developing operating policies and tools for Community Investments, and she supervises the administration of FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Boards for Creek, Tulsa/Osage and Wagoner Counties.

For a number of years, Sharon had wanted to learn the art and science of "giving dollars to good works," which she says the United Way is teaching her. Her favorite part of working at TAUW is the opportunity to work with colleagues who are so dedicated to the mission of United Way.

Kathleen K. Jewell
Vice President/COO

918-295-6616

Kathy Jewell came to Tulsa Area United Way in the fall of 1996. She is responsible for the finance department, information services and oversees general operations, including human resources and facilities in her current position as Vice President / COO.

Kathy wanted to work at TAUW because it is one of the premier United Ways in the country, and through the services of its 63 agencies, it meets many health and social service needs in the Tulsa community. Her favorite part of working at United Way is seeing the support of the Tulsa area community at work. She says it is so rewarding knowing she is a part of that support.

Anne Tarbel, vice president of marketing, enjoys many aspects of her job, but points out two in particular. One is the relationships she fosters working with TAUW’s agencies and volunteers. Additionally, she knows in her heart that the work she does makes a difference in the lives of thousands of people in the community.

Anne came to the Tulsa Area United Way four years ago, admitting she knew the job had her name written on it. After holding management jobs in for-profit companies, she felt it was time to give back and work in a nonprofit organization. Anne is responsible for the branding and image of the Tulsa Area United Way. She manages the strategic plans for advertising, PR and media relations along with the print and video production for the campaign. The website and special events are also under her direction.

Derk Tenzythoff
Vice President of Resource Development

918-295-6648

Derk Tenzythoff came to the Tulsa Area United Way eight years ago with a strong appreciation of TAUW’s support of health and human service agencies, especially those agencies that don’t have the clout to raise funds relatively easily on their own. As vice president, resource development, he is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the resource development department, which includes annual campaign efforts, as well as planned giving/endowment initiatives. Derk also serves as the principal professional resource to the campaign chair and campaign cabinet.

Derk's favorite part about the Tulsa Area United Way is the challenge of raising millions of dollars and working with the volunteers who commit so much time and effort for the organization.
