PURPOSE
The purpose of the Venture Grants program is to fund a new, innovative approach to an existing or emerging need in the community. " New, innovative approach" means a creative solution to a community need not currently available in our six county service area (Creek, Okmulgee, Osage, Rogers, Tulsa and Wagoner Counties). This does not include current services or expansion of current programs. Replicating a current program in a different geographical area does not meet the requirements of a Venture Grant.
GRANT SIZE
Venture Grant funding is not available for capital purchases. Agencies may submit only one application.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- Venture Grants proposals are due August 5, 2011. No late submissions will be accepted.
- All submissions must be complete. No questions can be omitted.
- All applicants must have a letter of tax exemption as a publicly supported charitable organization Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Pending 501(c)3 tax-exempt status does not satisfy this requirement.
- Grants will be awarded one time only for an eighteen-month period.
- The agency operates on a non-discriminatory basis with respect to age, sex, race, religion, disability and national origin. This policy applies to membership bodies, boards, committees, staff and services. Depending on the size of the agency or organization, TAUW may require that the agency or organization operate with an Affirmative Action Plan that has been approved by its board of directors.
- Organizations that compensate board members are not eligible for a Venture Grant.
