With just a handful of days left, Tulsa Area United Way is closing in on the 2020 campaign goal of $23,720,000.
But we still need your help. We need another $1.2 million to reach our goal, enabling us to do our part to ensure that the social safety net remains strong in our community.
We’ve already seen how Living United we were able to collect 50,000 pounds of groceries in August for local food pantries. And knowing how great the needs are, many of you have pledged above and beyond what you gave last year. Thank you!
Pierce Norton, ONE Gas President and CEO, offers these thoughts on the generosity demonstrated by his employees and company.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every business and every citizen in our community, making the agencies supported by the Tulsa Area United Way even more critical than ever. Seeing this incredible need, our employees and retirees stepped up and set a record high for our company. I am so proud of our employees and retirees. With their selfless generosity, the decision for our ONE Gas Foundation to set its own record gift to the United Way Campaign was the right thing for us to do. It answered this simple question: If not this year, when?”
There’s still time to give if you haven’t made your pledge at work, or you can donate directly online. Learn how you can double your donation through these challenge grants from sponsoring companies and foundations. If you’re looking for additional impact, please join us in the Deco District in downtown Tulsa on November 14, where you can help Tulsa Area United Way receive up to a $100,000 donation – just by showing up. Event information is below.
Wayne Green, Tulsa World editor wrote recently “Supporting the United Way is a small way each of us can maintain the essential services our community must have in a challenging time. It’s an investment in our neighbors and our future.”
I encourage you to read his article and share it with your co-workers, friends and family members. The 2020 United Way Campaign has brought people together during an unprecedented time of hardship. All of us stepping up to do whatever we can will help everyone recover more quickly and keep our community strong and vibrant. Let’s all Live United.
