It’s hard to put into words what Michael Butler meant to all of us at Tulsa Area United Way. He was a friend, a storyteller, and someone you could rely on to get the job done right because he knew lives in the community depended on it.
Michael’s love for his family was central to who he was. He adored his wife, Kimberly, his two daughters, Randi and Kaitlyn, stepson, Kyle, stepdaughter, Megan and her husband Seth, and granddaughter, Adelyn. He spoke about them often and with so much pride and love.
He had two impactful stints with us—first as a Campaign Manager (2001–2004) and later as Senior Campaign Account Manager (2021–2024). In between, he built a successful career in sales and customer service.
But his heart always belonged to the United Way. Michael was especially passionate about serving the Sand Springs community, where he helped raise funds and create meaningful change. He believed deeply in our mission and worked tirelessly to make a difference.
Michael was the kind of person you could always count on—hardworking, funny, and genuinely kind. His stories, humor, and unwavering dedication will be remembered forever. We’re so grateful for the time we had with him, and we will miss him more than words can say.
