Service is a Passion for ECC

At T.D. Williamson (TDW), aligning the annual United Way campaign with the values, interests and buying habits of employees has been a successful strategy.
“Consider how your employees spend their free time? How do they spend their money? Then try to align your campaign accordingly” says Daniel Johnson, employee campaign coordinator (ECC) at TDW. “Our employees like to spend time outdoors so we held a clay shoot tournament, had a few cookouts and auctioned off a cooler.”
TDW and its employees are also family-oriented, so during this past campaign the company offered family photographs taken by a professional.
“We try to make participating in the United Way campaign convenient for employees – so we go where they are”, he says. For example, the company offers online giving and various events at our locations such as plant sales for A New Leaf.
Daniel, who is Manager of Training and Program Delivery at TDW, is passionate about his role as ECC. “I knew that community service was a core value at TDW,” he says. “That’s one aspect that makes TDW an attractive place to work.”
Previously, Daniel worked at the Tulsa Boys’ Home, a United Way partner agency.
“I truly believe we’re all in this together,” he says. “As the saying goes, ‘a rising tide lifts all boats.’ So let’s pursue helping others, work together and in the end, leave a lasting and noble legacy.”
