There is no area of Goodwill Industries of Tulsa’s work that COVID-19 did not impact. Still, it managed to help Tulsa-area residents get placed in jobs, pull themselves out of debt, put food on their tables, and stay in their homes.

Yes, the pandemic challenged Goodwill, but it found ways to continue the intake of clients and household items to keep employees, participants, and members of the public safe.

At the same time, Goodwill kept its company values of respect and empowerment strong when it refused to lay off or furlough team members during the mandated closures.

Basically, Goodwill had a choice — it could either lament all of the problems brought about by COVID-19 or seek to improve the organization. We are pleased to say that as an organization, Goodwill chose the latter option to make a difference for the people and community it proudly serves.

Through Goodwill Industries of Tulsa’s TulsaWORKS & Job Connection program, 390 individuals were placed in jobs, resulting in them earning a total of $4.6 million collectively and making an economic impact of $22.6 million. That is simply amazing.
