Buy Black Tulsa

Tulsa Area United Way has joined the efforts of The Buy Black Tulsa Campaign in partnership with Fulton Street Books and Coffee, the YWCA, and Greenwood Rising.

Throughout March, TAUW will highlight Black-owned businesses with a call-to-action that raises awareness and leads to sales. We will also remind business leaders that our own city is a great source of diverse suppliers for corporations. The March communications will lift up the message that commerce must flow throughout the city so that all community members flourish and thrive. Additionally, the outreach campaign will promote a festive shopping event on March 27, challenging the entire community to get out and #buyblacktulsa!

Efforts to support Black-owned businesses is one of many activities taking place leading up to the opening of Greenwood Rising, a state-of-the-art history center honoring the legacy of Black Wall Street before and after the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921.

Stay tuned for details on how you can get involved!
