In a recent meeting that convened at the state capitol, the newly appointed Governor’s Hispanic Council took a step toward addressing key issues that affect the Hispanic community in Oklahoma. The council, focusing on Hispanic buying power and workforce development, brought together leaders from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa for a comprehensive discussion with Governor Stitt. This assembly marks a pivotal moment in the state’s efforts to enhance financial stability and job opportunities for Hispanic Oklahomans.

The importance of Hispanic buying power cannot be overstated, as it represents a significant portion of the state’s economy. Recognizing this, the council’s meeting aimed to explore strategies to further integrate the Hispanic community into the broader economic framework of Oklahoma. By focusing on workforce development, the council is laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and prosperous future for all Oklahomans.

Tulsa Area United Way has long been at the forefront of efforts to support Oklahomans in achieving financial upward mobility. We are committed to closing financial instability gaps within the Hispanic community.

The Executive Office of the Governor of Oklahoma has shown remarkable support for this initiative, underscoring the state government’s commitment to fostering an environment where every Oklahoman has the opportunity to succeed. This collaboration between governmental bodies and nonprofit organizations is an example of what can be achieved when we work together toward a common goal.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all those involved in this initiative. It is through your dedication and collaboration that we can hope to build a more inclusive Oklahoma, where the Hispanic community is empowered to thrive economically and contribute fully to our state’s growth. Together, we are making strides toward a future where financial stability and upward mobility are within reach for every Oklahoman.
