Th TAUW podcast showcases heroes as the Live United pod explores what we can do together to unite people and resources to improve lives and strengthen our community.
The debut episode features Michael Baker, who serves as the Fire Chief of the Tulsa Fire Department. We talked to Michael about how 9/11 impacted the fire service and his own life in the past 20 years.
The second episode features Maura Guten, president and CEO of our partner agency, Child Abuse Network. Maura is prominently featured in our 2021 campaign video that spotlights how TAUW and our partners launched the Look Out Reach Out campaign during the pandemic to help protect children in crisis. As a result, child abuse and neglect that would have gone unreported because of COVID-19 were exposed.
Our third episode featured our very own Mimi Martinez, who serves as TAUW’s Partnership Development Manager. Mimi interviewed Blanca Oaxaca, from Morton Comprehensive Health Services. In both English and Spanish episodes, Mimi and Blanca discussed the importance of offering affordable health care for the Latinx and Hispanic communities.
